Privacy Policy
Effective date: [DATE]
This Privacy Policy explains what information Cloud Guard Labs ("we", "us", "our") collects through this website (cloud-guard.in) and our apps — the Pet Health Companion app and InstaDM — and how we use it. We are a small, indie studio run by one person (Pranay Mendhe), and we try to collect only what's needed to run the products.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Name and email address when you create an account.
- Basic profile details you choose to provide.
Pet Health Companion
- Pet profile details you enter (name, species, breed, birth date, etc.).
- Health records you enter: vaccines, deworming, medications, meals and treats, potty check-ins.
- Documents and photos you upload (e.g. vet reports, prescriptions).
- Information about co-parents or sitters you invite to share a pet's care.
InstaDM
- Your Instagram account ID and username, obtained via Meta/Instagram login.
- Access tokens issued by Meta, used to act on your behalf (reply to comments, send DMs).
- IDs of the posts or reels you choose to automate.
- Comment text and commenter usernames on those posts, used only to match your configured keyword triggers and to send the appropriate reply or DM.
- The keyword triggers and reply/DM messages you configure.
Payments
Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number or UPI details — the processor handles that directly and shares with us only what's needed to manage your subscription (e.g. plan, status, last payment date).
2. How we use this information
- To provide and operate the apps (e.g. sending reminders, posting replies, sending DMs).
- To let you share pet care with a co-parent, or share a summary with your vet, when you choose to.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To respond to support requests sent to our contact email.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
3. Where data is stored
Our infrastructure runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Data is currently hosted in the AWS ap-south-1 (Mumbai) region [placeholder — confirm region]. We use AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3 to run the apps and store data.
4. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers who help us run the product — currently AWS (hosting) and a payment processor (billing).
- Meta/Instagram APIs, as required for InstaDM to function, and subject to Meta's own terms.
- A vet or other recipient, only when you explicitly choose to share a summary from the Pet Health Companion app.
- Law enforcement or regulators, only if required by law.
5. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep records (e.g. for tax or legal reasons).
6. Your rights and data deletion
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data at any time by:
- Emailing Pranaymendhe@gmail.com, or
- Using the delete-account option inside the app, where available.
Instagram / InstaDM users: you can revoke InstaDM's access at any time from Instagram's own settings (Settings → Apps and Websites, or Meta Accounts Center → Apps and Websites, then remove InstaDM). Revoking access stops us from acting on your account. You can separately request deletion of any data we hold about you by emailing the address above — this satisfies Meta's data deletion requirements for apps using the Instagram Platform.
7. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we work to improve this over time as the product matures.
8. Children's privacy
Our apps are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. India DPDP Act, 2023
We intend to handle personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including with respect to your rights as a data principal (such as access, correction, and erasure of your data). If you have questions about how this applies to your data, contact us using the details below.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll update the effective date above when we do. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email where practical.
